Westchester Arc 2- Katie Nolan

In response to what Lisa was saying, I too am taking the class. We just started the preparation for an event that will be held at Westchester Arc in Hawthorne. The event is going to be on November 8th from 1-3pm and it is going to be an art show. This will allow the people who Westchester Arc serves to submit their artwork and have everyone see it and even have some potential people buy it. Westchester Arc is very big in using art as a form of self-expression and encourage all of their consumers to participate in this event. My teacher split the class into groups so we can work on the several different steps to planning this event. I'm in the media group and we are in charge of writing the press release for the newspapers that this is going to. We are reaching out to local Westchester papers as well as all of Westchester's High School newspapers. We are also going to be posting blogs for the different towns in Westchester for the people to read about this. The other commitees in the class are research, event planning, and marketing. We are hoping to make this event a success and have a lot of students from local high schools there since they are our main target audience.
