Bloomingdale's PR Nadia Antolino

To go along with what Michelle was saying about the fashion world and getting people back into stores to shop, Bloomingdale's (my employer), is currently trying to bring fun into shopping.

Our theme for the season is our black and white trademark throughout the store along with bringing in cinema themes. We had set up a life size chess board on our main floor along with photo booths, face painting for kids and other fun attractions for our customers. Eight movie trivia questions were displayed on the walls throughout the store. Our customers were given game cards to fill out, so as they walked through each of the departments shopping, they were able to look for and answer the questions. After entering their card, whoever was picked received a gift basket. This got the customers in departments they may have not gone to, increasing their chances of shopping there. There are glamor shots of famous actors and actresses throughout the store, which gives the store a vintage hollywood feel.

All of these factors were to try and attract customers and make shopping fun. As Michelle said, if people don't shop, jobs will be lost. I know Bloomingdale's is doing everything they can to keep the customers happy and make their shopping experience enjoyable.
